Tips For First Time Guests
The main championship (highest level) rounds will be happening during the evening sessions. Dress code is smart casual to semi-formal.
We have an unforgettable weekend planned. In addition to the highlight competition events in the evening, we will also have a Mixer, a Jack & Jill competition and plenty of General Dancing!
So what does all of that mean?
Mixers
A 'mixer' is a group dance where everyone is constantly changing partners. Our very own, charismatic Michel Guimond will be leading the mixer. The choreography is very simple that even a beginner will have no problem catching on. Get on the dance floor and give it a whirl!
Mystery Medley Jack & Jill
The fun social competition where everything and anything is allowed! You're paired with a random dance partner and compete against others to a medley of music! This is far from strict ballroom dancing and creativity is highly encouraged. The music will change throughout the dance and it's your goal to interpret the music as you see fit! There is no advance registration or fees for this event. No costume required. Please visit the registration desk on the day of the event to enter.
Newcomer Syllabus Steps Only All Ages and Levels
Do you love to dance but only know the basics? This is the fun event for you! Only basic newcomer steps wil be allowed. All ages and skill levels are welcome! We will be be running two events in the evening session. The standard event will include the Waltz and Quickstep, and the Latin event will include the Cha Cha and Jive! General Dancing
This is a chance for everyone to get off their seats and take to the floor! We will be playing fun social music throughout the general dancing sessions. So grab your friends, or make new ones, and dance the night away!
Refreshments
Since our venue is a synagogue, we will providing kosher drinks and light snacks all day long. If you plan to bring food into the venue, please make sure it is certified kosher.
